luxe for less: L'Oreal EverPure Moisture Shampoo
Here on SugarShock, we've been all about finding those hard-to-find, culty beauty brands. But great as those brands may be, they can bear a hefty pricetag, and we're in the midst of paring down while still trying to live the luxe life. So with that in mind, we're introducing a new column, "Luxe for Less," which spotlights drugstore brands that deliver as well as their higher-end counterparts. First up is L'Oréal's new EverPure Moisture Shampoo. I was psyched about this launch from the get-go, as it's most likely the first sulfate-free shampoo available at the drugstore level. Having tried a sulfate-free shampoo by salon brand AG Hair Cosmetics, and loved the way it made my hair feel silky-soft instead of ratty and tangled, I knew I was in for a winner. Why are sulfates bad, you ask? Sulfates are detergents found in many shampoos and body washes that make the product lather and cleanse. They can sometimes be a little harsh, which means they can make colour-treated hair fade more quickly. EverPure is 100% vegan and features natural cleansers, so it's extra-gentle on your hair. It lathers up like a dream and I'd say it's just as good as high-priced salon versions. The cool thing is, with its sleek metallic packaging, you might mistake it for a premium brand. Plus, the rosemary-juniper scent is super-invigorating on sluggish mornings. I'd recommend it even for those of you with non-colour-treated hair, too: there's just something about a sulfate-free shampoo that leaves your hair all shampoo-commercial-like. Once you go sulfate-free, you never go back!
