Two of the shoes are beside the point, but the other 4 are the reason for this post.
Have you all seen the City Flat from Gap? It's this little ballet flat that kind of folds up and comes with a little bag. Basically the idea behind it is that we are all career girls who walk to work in the big city and need a "walking shoe" for the commute and then we get to work and slip on our 4 inch Louboutins. Precisely what I will be using them for.
Here's the online description: "Incredibly modern, for the girl on-the-go, our new city flat is made of soft pliable leather and has an elasticized opening, so it fits like a glove and is ridiculously comfortable. Plus, it comes with an adorable drawstring bag."
I had a friend show them to me months ago and I loved the idea behind a comfy, chic flat for everyday use. I never tried them on because the $40 price tag turned me off.
Yesterday I was browsing at Gap and the City Flat entered into my line of vision. This time they were on sale. PLUS an additional 30% off the sale. So I tried a pair on. And my feet sighed with relief as they experienced a shoe that is basically a mixture between a pillow and a slipper. Delicious. Just scrumptious.
Before I decided which color to get (bright or neutral? patent or matte?) I wanted to see just how much they would be. I walked a City Flat up to the register and...the shoe came out to about $9. Pleaseandthankyou I think I'll take 4 pairs. You MUST go into the store to get these flats for the slammin' deal, for gap.com is slow on the uptake and they aren't really on sale online. And to get an even BETTER deal? Use a gift card like I did (hehe).
